From the Chosun Gift Shop Operational Board President...

Hello!

What a wonderful year this has been and it’s all thanks to you.  Thanks to our dedicated staff and AFSC/CGS Boards, but mostly thanks to YOU; you, our tireless volunteers that we can count on in any situation to come through for the Chosun.  Whether it’s unpacking a truck in the cold, pouring down rain, or volunteering on a beautiful Saturday when we’re short staffed and you’d rather be spending time with your family, you are always there for us.

You have volunteered thousands of hours and have helped us raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for not only our Yongsan community, but for military and Korean communities peninsula-wide.  You have helped service members, children, the underprivileged, the elderly and the handicapped.  You have bought diapers and rice, wheelchairs and clothes.  You have helped students go to college and have helped the Koreans clean up the worst national disaster in recent history.

You have made an impact this year on thousands of people that you probably don’t know and perhaps will never meet. And although they may not know you, they know of your efforts and like all of us here at the Chosun, they thank you for what you have done.

We all have a really fun time here at the AFSC’s Chosun Gift Shop; it’s a great place to spend some free time and an exciting way to meet new friends. But in addition to volunteering your time, know that you’re making an impact on both the American and Korean communities, and in many cases, actually changing lives.

I hope you feel proud of what you’ve accomplished this year at the Chosun, because we are certainly proud of YOU.

With sincere heartfelt thanks,

Dawn Lawhorn
